That would be a very useful clean system to handle contact information. The way I understand all of this is, that the general idea or goal of the 'People Hub' is to have one place where you put all your contacts with all there informations (Name, Telephone, Skype, MSN and so on) and then you just can use them in all the different I would like to jump on the band-waggon here to actually also ask the obvious question.

Way? (inside of Windows environment, of course) HOW do you MESSAGE contacts in a UNIFIED and CROSS PLATFORM.If I wanted to change my phone number, it would prove impossible. As a bonus, I have lost tracking on how many different places the Microsoft account is linked and where the data is stored.

Others won't see me online at all or I won't see them!!!

Some people I used to have in Messenger will see me online on the phone, others on Skype, others in the damn W8 Messaging app.

The 'People' hub in W8 still refers to 'Live' contacts, among 'Skype', 'Messenger', 'LinkedIn', 'Facebook'Р Р†Р вЂљР’В¦ But it will only let me add 'Live' contacts.

And if I add it to Messenger then I won't be able to chat. Because if I add to Skype then I won't see it on my phone. I meanР Р†Р вЂљР’В¦ I'm not sure WHERE to add a contact.

Between Outlook 2013,, WP8 and W8 sometimes contacts gets duplicated, sometimes contact data is lost.

Messaging inside Outlook 2013 will sometimes identify the Skype contact, sometimes not.

Outlook 2013 will do something in between.

The 'People' hub in WP8 will see my Skype contacts as duplicated.

Skype for Desktop I'm not sure any more which contacts I have (FB, Live, Outlook, SkypeР Р†Р вЂљР’В¦).

We can't even 'share' nothing from the charms bar in W8.

Skype for W8 is not fully integrated (to say the least).

I've been wreaking online systems since before FidoNET and made my way through BBS, text browsing, ICQ, and so on. I meanР Р†Р вЂљР’В¦ I consider myself pretty advanced when dealing with technology. Can anybody please explain, or even understand, the current state of all this?
